Our school offers bright, cheerful surroundings and displays of the children's creative artwork, imaginative play, and caring staff.
Classrooms are designed for directed learning as well as free play. They contain many educational Centers including Language and Literacy, Creative Expression, and Manipulatives. Children have opportunities for art, dramatic play, math, science, reading, and music. The science and math centers include manipulatives, puzzles, blocks, and methods of involving children in estimating, predicting, and exploring. Dramatic play invites children to dress up, put on plays, create puppet shows, and pretend. Fine motor and sensory-motor skills are enhanced by the writing practice as well as scissor use.
All classrooms use The Creative Curriculum. Extensive research points to the important link between young children’s development and learning and their later success and school achievement. Creative Curriculum has 38 research-based objectives which define the path teachers take with the children in their classroom. The objectives cover 10 areas of development and learning, including broad developmental areas, content areas, and English language acquisition.
Today's Learning Center is a community that embraces diversity in children and their families. A small staff to child ratio allows each child to thrive. We are licensed by the State of New Jersey's Department of Children and Families.
